Outfit of the day # 2

It’s time for another outfit-flash. I’ve spent the day together with my parents, lil’bro, lil’sis + boyfriend and my very own Mr. Boyfriend. It was my Daddy’s 47th birthday (Happy birthday Dad!) so we went there to celebrate him with cards, gifts and great food! This was my outfit:

Sparkle for New Years

I’ve desided to go a bit more crazy with my newyears outfit this year than I normally do. I want a lot of sparkle this time so I can’t get enough of sequins! If I were a celeb or just had more than enough money thenI would love, love, LOVE to wear the same dress as american country singer Taylor Swift. The to-die-for dress is from Kaufman Franco and Taylor wore it this month at the Country Music Awards.

Insted I’m going to say goodbye to 2008 and “Hello ’09!” in this sequin dress from the english high street brand Primark. I found it on ebay (UK) for a bargain-price of 190 DKK (incl delivery). It doesn’t get any cheaper than that! And it fits beautifully.
What do you think? Have you found your newyears-outfit yet?

Matthew Williamson for H&M

Finally! I’ve been guessing on who would be the next big designer who will design for H&M and it has just been revealed that it’s Matthew Williamson. I’m really looking forward to that. The last collection H&M made with Comme des Garçons was a disaster if you ask me! It was ugly clothes and way too expensive. Matthew Williamson is much more my kind of designer. You’ve probably already seen a lot of his dresses on celebrities on the red carpet. His designs are girly, light, colourful (he especially has a “thing” for pink) and he loves prints too.

A small preview from the Matthew Williamson for H&M collection

The line will be in selected H&M stores from April 23 2009. I’m crossing my fingers and saying a silent prayer that Odense will be chosen this time. We have been overlooked the last two times. We haven’t had any of the lines since Viktor & Rolf designed for H&M and with now 3 H&Ms in the city it should be possible that at least one of them got the line.
Matthew W. is also going to design some styles for the H&M summer collection. These pieces will be avaible in store from mid-may and these are being sold in EVERY H&M store… yay!! Wonder how many bitches I have to fight to get my hands on that line? The only worry I have is the prices. The Comme des Garcons collection was insanely expensive (considering it to be a collection for a high street brand like H&M) and I’m worried that this one might be too.

Here’s what Matthew Williamsons own line normally looks like – seen on the runway and on the red carpet. I predict that we’re going to see some of the same bright coloured and printed fabrics. I can’t wait.

A sore throat and a beating heart

I’m spending the day in bed with a really, really sore throat. I’m feeling very sick. And it sucks… and I’m really bored. Tim was sick last week and I bet it has caught up with me now. I’m really feeling like shit…

… and really great on the other hand. I’ve felt so much in love these days (not that I don’t feel that all the time it’s just more intense right now) and I’m loving it. I don’t know why – I just think that he’s so freaking wonderfull.

More stuff for me!!

Today I finally got my latest delivery from asos.com and then I also bought the cutest cup-set with Audrey Hepburn pictures all over it. How cute is that? Here’s my review of the things:

More stuff for me!!Barry M nail polish. Colour “Purple Grape”, 27 DKK

Really gorgeous colour. I knew the brand already and I love their quick-drying and very lasting nail polishes. I know I will use this colour a lot for all the holiday parties coming up. And for the price of 27 DKK they’re a bargain.

More stuff for me!!
ASOS Bow Front Satin Band Top, 108 DKK

I bought this top with the intention of useing it as a everyday-top with a cardigan and a pair of jeans. And for that purpuse it’s ok. The fit isn’t great – it’s waaaay shorter than on the model in the picture and then it’s pretty wide. But it’s ok and I don’t wanna bother sending it back when it didn’t cost me more than 108 DKK. The bow is really cute though.

More stuff for me!!

ASOS Pyramid Stud Waist Belt, 135 DKK

I’ve been eyeing this belt ever since I first saw it on asos. It’s so gorgeous and I can think of a million ways to use it. It’s in the style of the one Sarah Jessica Parker wore in the Sex and the City movie. The size it’s a bit small so I’m glad I went with the m/l size. And I think the belt is even more gorgeous in real life than in the pictures.

More stuff for me!!

Audrey Hepburn cup-set from Søsterne Grene, 49,90 DKK

How cute is this? A cup-set with spoons and coasters all with a picture of Audrey from her movie Breakfast at Tiffany’s. I absolutely love, love, LOVE Audrey Hepburn. She’s a bit too skinny for my liking, but she makes up for it with all her charm and her stunning face. That’s why I just couldn’t live with out this set when I saw it at Søster Grene. It costs 49,90 DKK, but the girl at the check-out counter made a mistake so I got it for 13,30 DKK! Yay! (It’s also available in a Marilyn Monroe version).

Versace vs Asos Lipsy

After buying purple item no. 5 this months my Mr. Boyfriend asked “Do you have a thing for purple these days?”… awww very sweet that he even notices things like that. But yes, I have. And right now I’m secretly (not so secret anymore) dreaming of this dress that I found at asos.com from the brand Lipsy. I think that the details in the bust area resembles the ones on this Versace dress from their Autum/Winter 08 collection. And let’s face it: I don’t have the cash for a Versace dress plus the Lipsy version is so much more wearable. I want it.

Versace vs Asos Lipsy

Left: Purple dress from Versace Autum/Winter 08 collection

Right: Lipsy Exclusive To ASOS Corset Wrap Dress, 324 DKK

A movie I’m looking forward to see

I bet most of you has read one or more of Dan Brown’s books. Personally I’ve read The Da Vinci Code, Deception Point and Angels & Demons. And it’s the last one, Angels & Demons, I’m looking forward to see as a movie. I was very disappoint about The Da Vinci Code as a movie – they altered the ending and there was a lot of important things from the book that they left out in the movie. But I’m hoping that it will be better this time. I read an interview with some of the people behind the movie (A&D) and they said that they felt they had learned a lot from making The Da Vinci Code. They made a lot of mistakes but they promissed that they won’t make the same mistakes with Angels & Demons. Here’s for hoping! None the less, I’m going to see it when it hits the movietheaters May 15th 2009.

Tom Hanks is playing Robert Langdon again together with Ewan McGregor and the two danish actors Thure Lindhardt and Nikolaj Lie Kaas. The first promotion stills were released some weeks ago – and a trailer too. Are you gonna see too?

Try again, Asos!

Every year around this time asos.com releases a LUXE collection in time for all the holidayparties. It’s always more glamorous and a bit more expensive compared to their everyday prices. They released this years line this week and boy am I disappointed. So far it’s so ugly and tasteless. Try again, Asos! It’s just too much; too many details on every piece, too much bling-bling and some of the garments just don’t make any sense. They are totally over-designed and over-worked. Take a look at these:

Try again, Asos!

ASOS Luxe Scatter Sequin Waterfall Dress, 90 £ (855 DKK)

Try again, Asos!

ASOS Luxe Net Sequin Tiered Mini Dress, 90 £ (855 DKK)

Try again, Asos!

ASOS Luxe Corsage Feather Dress, 90 £ (855 DKK)

There’s only one of the dresses I would be caught dead wearing and it is this next one. I don’t love and I don’t hate it. But I still wouldn’t pay the price they’re asking for:

Try again, Asos!

ASOS Luxe Pleated Prom Dress, 85 £ (808 DKK)

What do you think about it? Are you planning on buying any of them?
